WE BREED TWO BREEDS - MINUETS AND BRITISH SHORTHAIR. THEY BOTH COME IN A SHORT LEGS (MUNCHKINLIKE) AND REGULAR LEGS VARIATION. THESE TWO BREEDS ARE IN FACT, COUSINS.
- BSH were created by breeding a Persian cat with a British street cat.
- Minuets were created by breeding a Persian cat with a Munchkin. (Genetic mutation of a street cat with short legs, which from time to time happens spontaneously.)
On our website Minutes, you can see TWO PAGES of Minuet (formerly Napoleon) kittens. 50% of Minuets are born with short legs - STANDARD and 50% are born with regular legs (nonstandard).
British SH kittens website shows - one page of regular BSH and one page of short legs BSH - little dwarfs, named English Muffins. (Those are not yet registered with TICA).
Most people are interested in short-legged kittens - English Muffins or STANDARD Minuets. Those are very cute dwarfs and they cannot jump on your counter or kitchen table but they are really good climbers.

In the past, some people were worried about the concerned health of these short-legged cats.
Then a really big research was finished - done by Dr. Solveig Pflueger, then TICA’S chief geneticist. She found out during 10 years of research that there are no health problems or complications connected with cats' short legs gene, and that these Munchkin kittens are healthy.
Just the opposite is true - because these are cross between two breeds, there is no inbreeding involved and these kittens are very healthy.

Our Kittens
Recurring vet check-ups will also help you make sure your Kitten is a healthy weight & check for issues like heartworms. You’ll give these pills to your Cat once-per-month to prevent mosquitoes from possibly passing heart worms to your Cat which can be fatal. If you don’t plan on breeding your Cat it’s also a good idea to talk to the vet about spaying or neutering. This helps prevent issues with other Cats, improves behavior & eliminates some potential health issues.
